My project was based on the article “Wabi-sabi: The Japanese philosophy that will help you embrace change and accept the past” which is about things changing and not being able to stop it but learn to accept it. Before I did anything on the computer I gathered some ideas and then put them on paper. I then scanned into the computer. On my project I have a teacup filled with green tea which symbolizes the past, the teacup has a few colors that blend together to make it. I also added shadows underneath. Next to the teacup, I had a napkin that I tried to add texture to, which I think it ended up looking pretty good. On the other side of the teacup are chopsticks which I just added color and a little shadow to. Above the teacup is the leaves which symbolize change because new ones come and go and they change color. For the leaves, I made a double of it and added a gradient to it to make orange to red. In the background, I just did a blue to the white striped gradient to balance everything. To the left, I have a Japanese word that translates to change. On the bottom, I have a quote from the article that I saw to be pretty important. In the bottom left corner, I have a little patch of bamboo which I added a little gradient to and tried to add some texture too and tried to make it as realistic as possible, which turned out nice.

For the article, I tried to make it look peaceful and have everything fit together. I sectioned off everything into there own place to make it contrast. I added blue behind the text to add a little pop to it and draw your attention to it. I used to blue to match with the picture to tie it together. I wanted it to be simple but still catch your eye and I think I did a good job at doing that.
